GERALDINE GOFF JONES

Geraldine Goff Jones, born January 2, 1934, in Green County Kentucky, lived a life rooted in faith, family, and unwavering strength. She was the daughter of Homer and Eva Bennett Goff and carried their values with her throughout her life.

On January 30, 1952, Geraldine married the love of her life, Henry Milton Jones Jr., beginning a lifelong partnership built on devotion and hard work. For nearly 60 years together, they created a home centered around their church, family, and community.

On March 25, 2026, Geraldine was called to her heavenly home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; her sons, Jason Jones and Paul Jones; her daughter-in-law, Tammy Jones; her brother-in-law, John Wagster; and her brothers, Donald and Glenn Goff.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Brian) Harris; her grandchildren, Carly Davis, Sara (Meong) Kwak, and Ben (Ely) Harris-Medina; her chosen grandson, Neil Hooper; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Henry and Catalina Harris-Medina, and Oliver and Millie Kwak. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Wagster; her brother, DuWayne (Della) Goff; and her sister-in-law, Ellen Goff, as well as a multitude of friends and extended family. The family is deeply grateful to all of the loving caregivers who provided Geraldine with such dedicated and compassionate care over the years, particularly Hosparus Health, Pat Simpson, and Karen Corbin.

A woman of many talents and deep faith, Geraldine spent her life as a dairy farmer, homemaker, and ezer kenegdo—a steadfast helper and partner in every sense of the word. She faithfully served her church family at Friendship Baptist Church for many years as a Sunday school teacher, Women’s Missionary Union leader, and Vacation Bible School volunteer. She also graciously ensured that the inside of the church was kept immaculate for all attendees. In addition to not only providing services at her own house of worship, she made sure to celebrate the life of Jesus with those who were not able to attend.

A 1952 graduate of Taylor County High School, she remained connected to her classmates, faithfully attending and organizing reunions throughout the years. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—sewing, gardening, reading, and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats, and she never rejected a little piece of chocolate. She also took pride in feeding the masses and everyone from farm hands, to family, friends, and beyond. After taking a step back from milking, she especially enjoyed riding her lawn mower, ensuring that her lawn was professionally maintained. Nobody could quite maintain it the way she could, and she wasn’t shy about letting them know.

Known for her quick wit and spirited personality, Geraldine was small and sassy, with a heart of gold. She never had an enemy, though she certainly put a few burrs in people’s saddles along the way—always with honesty and a touch of humor.

Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and faith. And now, as her tombstone gently reminds us, “He maketh me lie down in green pastures,” she rests in perfect peace—home at last, in the care of the Shepherd she faithfully followed.
