James Ray Hedgespeth of Campbellsville, son of the late Howard Lee Hedgespeth and Letha Sprowles Hedgespeth, was born October 29, 1943, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 11:36 A.M., Saturday, February 2, 2019 in Lexington. Age: 75He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Roberts Baptist Church.He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served his country honorably in the United States Army. James was a retired welder with Campbellsville Industries and more recently Tech Fab in Campbellsville. In his spare time James enjoyed hunting and fishing.He united in marriage to Mary Jane Gilbert December 3, 1976 and she preceded him in death April 8, 1982. James is survived by one daughter and one son: Tammie Lynn Durham and James Ray Hedgespeth Jr.; one grandson, Jessie James Durham; one brother-in-law, Donald Underwood all of Campbellsville; three nieces and three nephews: Letha Davidson, Regina Thompson, Sheila Warren, Brian Allen, James Underwood and Steve Underwood; two great nieces, two great nephews and two great-great nephews and many other relatives and friends.He was also preceded in death by two grandsons: David Thomas Durham and Thomas Wayne Morgan II; two sisters: Aileen Allen and Bernice Underwood, one nephew, David Allen.
