Jewell Watson

Jewell G. Watson of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Willie Virgil Gabbert and Bessie Pearline Thomas Gabbert, was born October 2, 1932 in Pellyton, Kentucky. She died at 1:36 P.M., Thursday, January 1, 2026 in Louisville.  Age: 93

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.

She was a retired insurance agent with Jessie Insurance Agency and Reed Brothers Insurance and enjoyed her office jobs.

Jewell was a loving mother and grandma.

She united in marriage to Howard “Jockey” Thomas Watson and he preceded her in death April 22, 1987.

Jewell is survived by one son, Randy Watson and wife, Jackie of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren: Brett Watson of Campbellsville, Sarah Naufel and husband, Josh and Hannah Miller and husband, Tim of Louisville; three great-grandchildren: Kylie Hall, Silas Naufel and Stella Naufel of Louisville; one brother and two sisters: Paul David Gabbert and wife, Donna of Knifley, Dollie Cox of Campbellsville and Ethel Marie Rains of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Jewell was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Marguerite Noel and two brothers and two sisters: Samuel Gabbert, Joel Gabbert, Lillie O. Buckman and Nora Pearl Gabbert.
