JoAnn Sprowles of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Cecil Atwell and Myrtle Underwood Atwell, was born November 6, 1951 in Larue County, Kentucky. She died at 9:02 P.M., Thursday, June 18, 2026 in Lexington. Age: 74

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. JoAnn was dedicated to her church and loved gospel music.

JoAnn was a retired food service employee with the Taylor County School System.

She united in marriage to Foster Sprowles September 26, 1969.

JoAnn enjoyed cooking and having family dinners. She also liked to work in her flowers. Her family said she loved her grandchildren and was a wonderful mom.

Besides her husband, Foster Sprowles of Campbellsville, JoAnn is survived by one son and one daughter: Craig Sprowles and wife, Beth and Kellie J. Allen and husband, Ronnie of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Aubrey Crabtree and husband, Cody, Canaan Sprowles (Kelsey Perkins), Codie Allen (Avery Randall), Lane Whitley and wife, Scout and Kaylie Allen (Nick Zunker); two great-grandchildren: Luke Crabtree and Lettie Whitley; two brothers and one sister: Harold Atwell and wife, Darlene and Josie Caulk and husband, Glen of Campbellsville and Danny Atwell and wife, Stella of Buffalo; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

JoAnn was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles E. Atwell.
