Mildred Alene Eastridge, 88, of Knifley, died Sunday, June 14, 2026, from an extended illness. She was the daughter of late GB and Lora Davidson and she was born on August, 19, 1937.
She was a life-long farmer. She grew up on a farm with her parents in the Little Cake community. She was married to Howard Wayne Eastridge on Jan. 27, 1959. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in January 2022. He preceded her in death on Monday, July 11, 2022. Together, they had a dairy farm and raised tobacco. They continued dairy farming until the cows were sold in 2001. Upon selling the dairy cows, they continued with beef cattle, horses, pigs and sheep. Besides working on the farm, she was an avid gardener, both of vegetables and flowers; was a splendid cook, everyone always cherishing MeMaw’s fried apple pies; and a skilled seamstress, having made many of her children’s clothes and then clothes for grandchildren and great-grandchildren. During the winter, she would most often be found quilting, stripping tobacco for several within the community, and picking out hickory nuts for baking. She directly completed or assisted in the completion of 100’s of quilts, mostly to be given to family members (young and old). She professed faith in her Lord early in life and was a dedicated Sunday school teacher for children and assisted whenever needed in many church programs. She grew up attending churches in the Celina, TN and Burkesville, KY areas and then primarily in Columbia, KY following her family’s move to Little Cake after construction of the Dale Hollow Reservoir which flooded their homeplace. During her later years, she attended the Broadway Church of Christ until her health hindered her from leaving home. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Wendall Davidson of Marion, IN. She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Lenuel Eastridge (Donna) of Marysville, Ohio, Howard Eastridge (Briann) of Columbia, and Paula Bault of Knifley; six grandchildren: Matthew (Alecia) Eastridge of Bowling Green, KY; Megan (Justin) McCreary of Marysville, Ohio; Jordan (LeeAnn) Eastridge of Saloma; Brittany Eastridge of Bowling Green, KY; Bethany (Cody) Hammond of Brandenburg, and Sarah (Brian) Showalter of Marysville, Ohio; two step grandchildren, Chaz (Samantha) Giles of Columbia and Dr. Van (Karli) Giles of Columbia; eleven great-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Betty Eastridge of Knifley, Mary Williams of Campbellsville, and Myra Greer of Knifley; one brother-in-law Ronnie (Darlene) Eastridge of Campbellsville; and many other family members and friends who have been a tremendous support.
The visitation will be Tuesday, June 16, 2026, 5:00-8:00 pm at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home. Visitation will also occur from 10:00-11:00 am on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, with the funeral following at 11:00 am at Broadway Church of Christ in Campbellsville.
