Opal Christine Gumm Forrest of Franklin, Indiana, formerly of Knifley, daughter of the late Alfred Gumm and Mattie Ann Seaborne Gumm, was born April 1, 1926 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She died at 8:02 P.M., Sunday, May 25, 2025 in Indianapolis. Age: 99
She professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.
Christine was a homemaker and a farmer.
She united in marriage to Robert Lee Forrest April 20, 1947 and he preceded her in death March 30, 1992.
Christine enjoyed doing embroidery and watching TV game shows. She loved flowers and reading.
Christine is survived by one son and one daughter: Ronnie Forrest and wife, Debra of Columbus, Indiana and Opal Forrest Hughes and husband, Alfred of Franklin, Indiana; three grandchildren: Cindy Hughes, Debbie Hughes of Franklin, Indiana and Christy Forrest Mullins and husband, Lewis of Seymour, Indiana; seven great-grandchildren: Chris Barkes and wife, Taylor, Brandon Barkes, Justin Mullins, Dakota Forrest, Austin Forrest, Taylor Forrest and Maddie Forrest; two great-great-grandchildren: Evie Barkes and Ellie Barkes; two sisters: Carol McClure and Peggy Houk of Campbellsville; a granddaughter-in-law, Dee Forrest; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Forrest; three brothers and three sisters: Buck Gumm, Johnny Gumm, Haskell Gumm, Irene Barnett, Imogene Harris and Nellie Livesay.
