Willard Newton of Campbellsville, son of the late Joe Lewis Newton and Virginia “Ginny” Aletha Miller, was born March 14, 1930 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 3:15 A.M., Sunday, September 21, 2025 in Radcliff. Age: 95
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of First Methodist Church.
Willard served his country honorably in the United States Army.
He was a retired employee of Fuit of the Loom and enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening.
Willard united in marriage to Joan Cowherd June 5, 1954, and she preceded him in death January 7, 1981.
He later united in marriage to Marian Rae Wilson November 18, 1982 and she preceded him in death October 16, 2023.
Willard is survived by two daughters and one son: LaDonna Lobb and husband, Jerry and Rhonda Gaines of Campbellsville and Michael Newton and wife, Mila of Columbia; two step-children: Terry Keltner and Jill Blakeman of Campbellsville; eleven grandchildren: Carrie Thompson and husband, Jeremy, Dylan Newton and wife, Sydney, Kim Ford and husband, Todd, Josh Gaines and wife, Brook, Chris Lobb and wife, Mary, Greg Lobb and wife, LaDonna all of Campbellsville, Billy Newton and wife, Casey of Lebanon, Matt Gaines and wife, Caroline of Louisville, John Lobb and wife, Veronica of Georgia, Stefani Hayes of Florence, and Brandon Knight and wife, Kaylie of Jamestown; thirteen great-grandchildren: Trinity Lobb, Malea Lobb, Avery Newton, Amory Thompson, Harper Gaines, Nolan Gaines, Leland Ford, Allie Hayes, Ramsey Hayes, Addison Patton, Owen Woodard, Lucas Woodard, and Katie England; many other step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Willard was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Garnett Newton and Helen Vaughn.
