Winona H. Smith

Winona H. Smith of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Clifford Hay and Bessie Mardis Hay, was born August 29, 1928 in Homer, Iowa. She died at 6:48 P.M., Saturday, August 15, 2026 in Campbellsville. Age: 97

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. She was dedicated to the Lord and taught Sunday School for many years.

Winona was a retired sales associate and loved to read.

She united in marriage to Harold Mitchell Smith June 29, 1947 and he preceded her in death July 31, 2010.

Winona is survived by one son and one daughter: John C. Smith and wife, Judy of Richmond and Sue Ellen Knifley and husband, Robert of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Kristi Anne Fireline and husband, Kevin of Nashville, Amy Lynn Knifley of Campbellsville and Jonathan C. Smith and wife, Melissa of Lexington; four great-grandchildren: Xander Lee Fireline, Ethan Mitchell Smith, Elias Raylan Smith and Olivia Annaleigh Smith; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Brian Lee Knifley and one sister, Geneva Schutte.
