It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of our beloved son and brother, Zachary Patrick Bowen, who professed faith as a born again Christian and left us far too soon at the age of 32.
Zachary was a bright light who loved deeply, laughed freely, and made it his mission to bring joy to everyone around him. His smile and laugh could fill a room, and his goal was to make sure there was never a dull moment. Children held a special place in his heart, and he had a gift for making every child he met feel loved and special.
Music was one of Zach's greatest passions. From Celtic melodies to rock anthems, and even good ol' Toby Keith, music was the rhythm of his life. One of his happiest places was at concerts with his buddies, surrounded by their energy and community.
He loved hard, and he fought hard. Through every challenge, Zach held on to his fierce spirit and his devotion to God and the people he cared about most. He leaves behind his loving parents, Wendell and Gwen Bowen; his brother Jeremy Bowen (Jennie); and his sister Stephany Smoot (Randy) along with four nephews Jovi, Jagger, Jenson and Bradshaw, three nieces Lauren, Taylor, Abigal and four great-nephews, Rowan, Case, Shade and Reid; a paternal grandmother Bernice (Bowen) Cox; and maternal grandmother Bonnie (Edelen) Lang; three uncles Randy (Barbara) Bowen, Greg (Sue) Bowen, Troy (Cindy) Edelen along with many cousins, extended family members and friends who will carry his loving memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Lewis Bowen, Step-Grandfather Rudolph Cox, Grandfather Howard Edelen, Step-Grandfather Richard Lang, Uncle Gary Bowen and special cousin Adam Bowen.
Though his time here was way too short, Zach's legacy of laughter, music and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though we will miss him every day, we rejoice in his eternal life!
